The world of window coverings is changing. New safety standards will soon be in place for corded products. I'm excited to have been able to work with Mary Ann Plumlee for the past year developing fabrication methods for Roman shades using her new CK Lift System. http://ckliftsystem.com/
This lift system is wonderful for drapery workrooms who make custom Roman shades, because the cords are totally inaccessible to children and pets. Unlike other lift systems available to workrooms the CK System requires no testing of back cords because there are NO back cords. There is no need to use a clutch system with a bead cord loop. There is no need to install a universal drive tension device (which most customers don't want). And there is no need to attach ugly hang tags warning of the strangulation hazard present in traditionally fabricated shades.
The CK System is a simple track system that allows manual lifting of the shade anywhere along its hidden lift bar. Any shade style can be adapted to the system easily and safely. I hope you'll join me on this blog to learn more about this lift system and simple ways to fabricate simply safe shades.
